Exact scale model of the famous school ship of the Italian Navy. She was planned by lieutenant colonel Framcesco Rotundi, following the trends of war sailing vessels. She was launched in 1931 at the Navy`s ship yards of Castellammare di Staia Naples.

Amerigo Vespucci a 3 mast fully rigged sailing ship takes its name from the famous Italian sailor and cartographer who also lent his name to the new world. Built 1930-31, Royal Shipyard (formerly), Castellamare di Stabia. and carried out many voyages before World War II. The period of the war was the only time the ship has not been active. The elegant, three-masted full rigger serves as the training vessel of the Italian Naval Academy.

Panart kits are a brand from Mantua Models. The range includes not only period ships, but more modern vessels and also a selection of open ship boats. The models themselves are superb quality and certainly rate amongst the best within their class. All of the main ply sections, frames keel etc. are laser cut to ensure accuracy. The hulls are double planked with pre-cut keels and frames. Hull planking usually consists of walnut and balsa or lime. The fittings supplied are made from various materials, including brass, walnut, boxwood. The decoration can be either laser engraved wood, cast metal and/or photoetched brass. The castings are formed using the lost wax process to ensure a very detailed finish. Comprehensive plan sheets and build instructions are included.
