The RMS Titanic is a British ocean liner built for the White Star Line shipping line. The launch took place on May 30, 1911 at the Harland and Wolff shipyard. Hailed as a marvel of marine engineering, the Titanic was considered unsinkable. It was one of the most spectacular sea disasters of the 20th century.
