A typical American schooner, the Lynx was launched from the Baltimore dockyards in the early 19th. century. She took part in the Great Lakes Battle in 1812 and was captured by Sir John Warrens squadron at Rappahnnock river on 13th. April 1813.

A square topsail American schooner, the Lynx was launched from the Baltimore dockyards in the early 19th century. Her commission was dated less than a month after the declaration war, on July 14th 1812. Built by Thomas Kemp to attack enemy merchant ships, she carried six 12-pounders and a crew of forty men. She took part in the Great Lakes Battle in 1812 and was captured by Sir John Warrens squadron at Rappahnnock river on 13th. April 1813.
The Panart kit features the following: A double plank on frame construction, building plans with general details English instructions, walnut and lime planking, wooden masts and spars, brass and walnut fittings, rigging cord and silk flag. All sheet ply sections are laser cut for accuracy.

Panart kits are a brand from Mantua Models. The range includes not only period ships, but more modern vessels and also a selection of open ship boats. The models themselves are superb quality and certainly rate amongst the best within their class. All of the main ply sections, frames keel etc. are laser cut to ensure accuracy. The hulls are double planked with pre-cut keels and frames. Hull planking usually consists of walnut and balsa or lime. The fittings supplied are made from various materials, including brass, walnut, boxwood. The decoration can be either laser engraved wood, cast metal and/or photoetched brass. The castings are formed using the lost wax process to ensure a very detailed finish. Comprehensive plan sheets and build instructions are included.
