The Leopard 2 is still one of the most modern tanks in the world. The 2A5 version is the stage 2 conversion of the combat effectiveness upgrade) (KWS) known as the Mannheim Configuration. The external modifications comprised additional armour over the frontal arc, second and third generation light track skirts, a new commander's periscope, reversing camera and sliding hatch for the driver.
