The Y-wing is a space fighter from the Star Wars universe, fighting in the ranks of the Rebellion. Standard armament consists of two laser cannons, two ion cannons and two proton torpedo launchers with a supply of 10. The length of the vehicle is approx. 16 meters. The Y-wing was designed and largely manufactured at the Koensayr Corporation facilities. It had tremendous firepower, far superior to Imperial fighters, and solid force fields. The disadvantages of the Y-wing machines include very poor maneuverability and a low top speed. So, even though these machines originally formed the backbone of the Rebel fleet, they quickly gave way to the much better X-wings. Very often, both types of units cooperated with each other, with the Y-wing acting de facto as an assault and bomb machine, and the X-wing of a classic fighter. The Y-wing vehicles played a significant role in the Battle of Yavin (year O BBY) where they suffered heavy losses. They also took part in the Battle of Endor (year 4 ABY), but later, only single copies of these fighters remained in service.
