MV Whitby Abbey Model Boat Plan
JAMES POTTINGER design for a 1950’s cargo vessel
Drawn to a scale of 1:100, this is a two sheet plan for single screw 1950’s cargo vessel, 256 feet long overall, beam 38ft 8ins, gross tonnage 1197 tons. Model length is just over 30ins, beam 4.6ins. No model constructional information is included, but there is sufficient detail on the drawings and hull lines to enable a museum quality working model to be built. The plan was featured, together with an accompanying article and photographs, in the December 2010 issue of Model Boats and is recommended for experienced model builders.
